I attended Robin’s Dog Camp for the first time since starting my own dog training business 9 years ago and it was exactly what I needed to help pull me out of my slump. In all honesty, prior to Dog Camp, I had been feeling completely burned out and stagnant, both personally and professionally. I was having a hard time finding my joy while juggling all the weight that comes from running a business and household/family.
Dog Camp was like a retreat for me where I was able to entirely focus on myself and my own personal dogs, which unfortunately doesn’t happen as often as I’d like. While I already knew much of the subject matter, Robin’s teaching style and unique analogies breathed life back into my own teaching strategies for my clients. I came away with countless valuable nuggets of wisdom, quotes, and techniques to better coach my clients towards their training goals.
I especially enjoyed connecting with the other participants, hearing their stories and witnessing the progress they made with their dogs. The three veterinarians in attendance gave interesting perspectives on several of the topics we discussed, and I made professional connections with the other trainers. It was effortless to connect with everyone there as Robin attracts the best kind of people who want the best for their dogs.
With many dog training workshops, I often leave exhausted and a bit overwhelmed with all the new information, not exactly sure on how to implement it all. However, I left Robin’s Dog Camp completely refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired. The final day spent with Robin and the other trainer helped me clarified exactly what I wanted to do moving forward.
Now after being back in “real life” for a few weeks, I have noticed more creativity in both my private sessions and my group classes. I’m taking what I absorbed at Dog Camp and finding new ways to inspire my clients to do the work with their dogs. I’m also now taking small but meaningful steps towards developing my own version of dog camp, rather than feeling stuck in the uncertainty that I was feeling before.
I am deeply grateful to Robin for her mentorship. Her passion for teaching and commitment to giving each participant the best possible experience are truly inspiring.
I wholeheartedly recommend both dog owners and dog professionals learn from Robin anytime they have the opportunity. It is always worth the investment!
