Please allow this letter to serve as a recommendation for Robin MacFarlane. I have known Robin since 2003. This was shortly after I retired from law enforcement during which time I handled a police K9 dog for 10 years and supervised the K9 Unit for 10 years.
Obviously I knew something about dogs and their training but having had the opportunity to work with her has taught me more about dogs, training and how to modify their behavior than I did as a police K9 handler. When you couple her knowledge and communication skills with the training method that we use, the results are dramatic. She is an expert in the use of remote training collars and the way in which they are used.
It is the method I started using after having met her at a police K9 seminar in 2003. Since I have incorporated this training method with my client’s dogs, in my training business, I have seen nothing less than phenomenal results. Many law enforcement agencies use collars, but mostly for punishment or just to gain control. Robin teaches it as a piece of equipment, part of an overall strategy with includes everything from the handler’s body language to rhythm and cadence. I’ve seen a lot of law enforcement trainers over the years, few will match her skills. She has also done extensive work with police dogs in various parts of the country over the years.
In closing, I highly recommend Robin for any dog training venture, be it civilian or military. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
