Professional Dog Trainers seek more info on Remote Collar Training

remote collar dog training schoolIt is a busy week here at the training center. Four times a year I teach our E-cademy program and this is one of the those times.

The E-cademy was created to help educate professional trainers and other enthusisiasts about the possibilities of remote collar training. So adding the aspect of teaching students to the daily routine of training dogs and teaching lessons to clients makes for a full day.

I did want to share a couple photos though. Pictured above the students are working with their personal dogs and the board and train dogs. One of the students picture, Eileen visited us earlier in the year to get help with her personal dog. She was so impressed with the results of the remote collar training she decided to enroll in the E-cademy to learn more.

One of the most rewarding activities the students participate in are the trips to the shelter to work with the dogs there. Those trips provide the perfect opportunity to learn while at the same time making a positive impact in helping the dogs become more adoptable.

Below is Harry, a delightful bundle of black fur and energy. With a few minutes work he went from a jumping, barking, drag us down the walk little hooligan to a perfect gentleman.

There are so many dogs that are adoptable, but never get a second look because their behavior is *too wild*.  Remote collar training, done properly, is the fastest and most humane path I know toward creating lasting change that makes the dogs more appealing to those searching for a new companion.

To those who have disdain for what I do, yes, I realize that there are other ways to train dogs and yes, I realize there are other effective methods. The reality is,  humane, effective and QUICK results matter to the public. Most of these dogs end up in the shelter because people are at their wits end with the naughty behavior.

The busy lives we lead don’t allow time for techniques that require months and months to yield the simple result of going for a walk without getting yanked down the street. The E-cademy program teaches trainers how to achieve that result in one lesson. If more trainers taught it, more dogs would stay happily in their homes.

  • My week working with Robin and Kelly at That’s My Dog E-cademy has been a life changing experience not only for me, but for the two dogs who were with me. I feel I gained a solid foundation to continue work with my dogs and future dogs. I am more confident in my timing and understanding of this ‘healing’ instrument. I was impressed with the creative approach to take dog training for the average dog out of a controlled environment and into the real world. The remote collar training makes that possible in such a short length of time. I am passionate to continue perfecting my skills and guiding dogs to be the very best dog they can be.

  • I’m the other student pictured above and I’m so excited about my new found knowledge and bringing it home to the Twin Cities. I know there are a lot of dogs and people that will be helped by this. While my dog was reasonably well-mannered prior to bringing him to the E-cademy, I’m excited about the possibilities this presents, being able to have him off-leash and reliable in a shorter period of time, and being managing multiple large dogs (him and his brother) more easily–it’s inspiring to go through this training. The dog loved it too! It took him a few minutes to get used to the nick sensation, but after that, he was tuned in and relaxed. I’d recommend Robin and her training program to anyone looking to train their dog, as well as other trainers looking to learn a new skill. Robin is very generous with her knowledge and fun and easy to work with. The passion she has for her work, and the enjoyment she gets from it really shines through when she’s working with students, clients, and their dogs.
